Western Veil Nebula NGC 696040 viewsThe Western Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant that is estimated to be 1400 to 2600 light years away from Earth. It is part of a complex called the Cygnus loop. The beautiful filaments are visible in a 10" telescope in dark skies. This picture is a sum of 100 30 second frames and was captured in Alburgh VT on 7/1/08.
